I don’t even know where to start with this review – to put it quite simply, Adelita’s Way rocks. I hadn’t heard of them before about a month ago, but a month was plenty time to make me a loyal fan. This CD is fantastic, I can listen to the whole thing all the way through and there aren’t any songs that I even have the slightest desire to skip over.
I’m more a fan of the upbeat songs – “Invincible” remains my standing favorite. “So What If You Go” is definitely a close second though.
Back in December, I bought tickets to a Theory of a Deadman concert, and I hadn’t realized Adelita’s Way was opening for them. Discovering Adelita’s Way and realizing that I was already going to get to see them was rockin’. The concert was earlier this month and Adelita’s Way by far surpassed my expectations for their performance, and even surpassed Theory of a Deadman’s performance! Hard to believe – but I actually think they might be even better live. I love Rick DeJesus’ voice – it’s really deep and filled with all the emotion of the lyrics. The guitar solos scattered throughout are equally great, and my boyfriend was entranced by the drummer (Trevor Stafford) who, as he put it, spent the entire time showing off.
I bought the CD after the show and the entire band signed it for me – they were all very friendly, chatting away and taking pictures with fans. I’ve recommended this Band/CD to pretty much everyone I know, and if you ever get the chance to see them live, I’d recommend that too!
