  • Two years after the 1996 reunion-gone-bust fiasco with the Van Halen brothers, hard rock’s last man standing is back with a vengeance that is a bit of a reminder of the whole “Eye of the Tiger” theme of the 3rd Rocky movie. Dave shows that he is not all “washed up” and that he still has it in him to put out a good, tough rock ‘n’ roll record. On this new DLR Band album, Dave goes back to the basics and dumps the synthesizers, using only the classic rock band quartet line-up of big guitars courtesy of John Lowery, Mike Hartman, & long-time friend Terry Kilgore; monster bass-work of John Lowery, B’ourbon Bob & Tom Lilly; and the pounding drum beat of Ray Luzier combined with his own vintage screeching to record an album that sounds more like Van Halen than Van Halen. He hasn’t gotten civilized, washed up, whipped, grown up, or sissified…with his music-writing, singing, performing, and over-all lifestyle…and he shows that he is hungry for the spotlight and ready for one more good run at the top of his game. The proof was clear when the smash hit single “Slam Dunk” was the #1 most requested hard rock song in the country for 4 weeks in a row!! This meat-and-potatoes hard-rock album is sure to have any long-time rock-n-roll fan reminiscing about the good ol’ days of drinking, dancing, and getting it on with a gorgeous gal without any regard for the morning after. Folks, run on down to the record store and buy it!! Or hell…save yourself some time and buy it right here on!!
