Egypt Central Biography - Egypt Central Discography - All Heavy Metal Bands

Stabbing Westward have always had a mix of industrial overtones and crashing power chords at their disposal, but their self-titled fourth album focuses on their melodic side. Opting for less electronic coloring this time out, they lean in a modern-rock direction that’s balanced against their signature dark, haunting style; here, songs that start off heavy and gloomy swell into catchy choruses. The hypnotic ”So Far Away” has a psychedelic edge while ”Perfect” serves up acoustic guitars and layered harmonies. ”I Remember” and ”Happy,” while lyrically reflective, ultimately come across as airy, upbeat rockers. The compelling, downright disturbing closer, ”Television,” takes an ambient route. But elements of their earlier sound remain in the likes of ”Wasted,” ”High,” and ”The Only Thing.” Ultimately, Stabbing Westward is the kind of album that strikes a neat balance between keeping old fans happy while drawing in new partisans. –Gail Flug

  • So if you are from the Auburn,IN or Fort Wayne,IN area you already know who this amazing band is this is the same cd as the one w/ the black cover, its still an amazing album not one bad song on the whole cd. And if not then Egypt Central is the greatest band that you have never heard of. I dont think it’ll be long till we see these guys on tv.

  • I bought this cd a while back at Cat’s Music in memphis, it’s a great album. There has never quite been sound like Egypt Central and I’m sure there never will be another like them. They’re not signed yet so that’s why they aren’t on here. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t by the album cause they really do rival any signed band out there and were at one time almost signed or signed to Lava Records but something happend and the album was self-released. It the album feat. the singles Taking You down, also heard on the soundtrack to The Cave, You Make Me Sick and the incredibly popular Over and Under. Over and Under is now being played on over 200 stations in the US. Be sure to listen for it and to grab the album. You can get the album at Cat’s Music in Memphis, Best Buy in Memphis, Best Buy in Nashville, Best Buy in Knoxville, and online at

  • this album is absolutely great. it’s like all i listen to lately. i’m thinking this band should blow up big. however, i was disappointed to hear one of the guitarists on this album is not in the band anymore? if that’s true, it’s a shame because i love the band as heard on this album.

  • If you have the original CD this is not a new one. It is a re-release of the original Egypt Central CD. I wish they would say that on the cover. I gave it 4 stars for that reason only. The CD rocks and every song could be a radio hit.

  • I bought this cd from Best Buy in memphis. I guess its not sold elsewhere yet. If you would like to hear what they sound like do a search for the cave soundtrack. they are track 17.
