Foghat is a great 70’s blues/rock boogie band. They were a huge stadium draw at one time, although I think this album was made before they had their days of fame. This is one of the earlier Foghat albums (their third, I believe). It has a very hot sound, without getting really heavy. It’s very energetic, and has some interesting things going on. They experimented with using female backing singers here, and they mixed in some horns also. I love “Home in My Hand” and, my all time favorite, “That’ll Be the Day” (unfortuately, the CD version of this song has a different ending than the album, and I like the album ending better). This is a really jammin’ album. Foghat’s lead guitarist, Rod Price, is known for his skill in slide guitar. This is probably the only blues-based rock boogie band that plays slide guitar. This is one of my favorite Foghat albums.
