  • I just picked up this cd/dvd yesterday and felt both are top notch quality. You get the same live show via a cd and dvd. The audio and video quality are both 10’s and it is also able to play in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The only complaint I have with this is the track listing from Protest on this show because I am a huge fan of Kezia (one of my top 5 cds of all time), yet there are only 3 songs out of the 11 on there from this disc. I wish I could of seen “Heretics and Killers” and “The Divine Suicide of K.” If you are a fan of Protest the Hero or just like seeing some shredding on the guitar, pick this up…it is essential to your collection!!!!!!

  • Protest The Hero are a ridiculously talented band. This cd/dvd set shows that off in spades. They have already released two full length albums and now we are presented with a live set. Understand this: this young Canadian band has some serious chops. The performance is energetic and technical. It is a metal band with a sense of humor, so don’t go in looking for blood and guts and hate. In an oversaturated metal scene, PTH stand out on their own merits. Try it for yourself. Four stars.

  • In all the previews and info about this CD/DVD before the release said that all of the PTH videos would be included on the DVD. Only the Spoils video is on there. The other extras are kinda cool; however they are pretty short and uninteresting.

The live set is pretty incredible. I have seen the band live, and they are pretty redic live. The live set is edited kind of weird, the cameras are often jittery and effects are added. At times these added effects get annoying, but I can look past it.

  • They played a great set list here. The audio is crisp and the guys kick ass. When Protest plays live you’re not just getting a louder version of the studio tracks. They play with inspiration and a bit of improvisation. Everyone is on point, and if you like their music then you’ll like this CD. The DVD side is excellent as well. You get the complete show with a lot of little bonus shorts they put together. Whoever edited the show did a great job. The shots taken and the effects placed over them made it a fun watch. Rody’s comments in between songs are hilarious. However, it really breaks up the flow of the music.
