  • My brother pointed out a song he’s heard on youtube, “Still Counting” when it suddenly appeared on the local rock radio station. For how long this band has been around (5 years since their debut album), I’m surprised I hadn’t known about them sooner. I ordered the album and it is SOLID! Heavy metal at its finest, infused with country (Something I don’t usually like, but Volbeat has its own way of presenting), Punk rock, Classic Rock & Roll, and some old-school blues. The singer’s voice is POWERFUL! The riffs vary from soft and accessible to incredibly heavy. My favorite songs on the album include the title track, Hallelujah Goat, Still Counting, Wild Rover of Hell, and their cover of I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

I don’t normally say this, but I’d recommend this album to ANY rock music fan. If you’re a veteran metal-head who listens to stuff like Puddle of Mudd, Metallica, and Seether; this will be very accessible and incredibly awesome. If you’re still listening to stuff like All-American Rejects, Daughtry, and Foo Fighters: this album will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!

Also, I’m looking forward to their next album coming this fall. ROCK ON VOLBEAT!!!!!
