Anticipation is what these guys do best. Whether you’re experiencing an immense buildup to an uncharted catharsis in one of their songs or you’re just waiting on their next album to drop (never a long wait, mind you), anticipation is key to what they do. You never know what is going to happen. This album is yet another good example of the Melvins phenomenon. You think you know what’s going to happen–hell, they spell it out for you, but you’re incorrect. I thought this would be a good album but I had no idea it would be as good as it is. It simply makes me feel like I did when I first heard the Houdini record. That’s just not possible. There you have it.
