  • That’s really all there is to say about this band, and the others like them; hipster “metal” for guys in their sister’s pants.

I won’t go the route of the caveman shouting about RAR TRUE METAL; that’s not the point, the point is that this isn’t interesting, fresh or new; they’re not doing anything that Mr. Bungle or Circle Takes the Square did before them. Possessing some semblance of talent is what separates those 2 bands from this run of the mill garbage.

Remember Limp Bizkit and Crazy Town; same thing; people who don’t know a thing about anything will think this is some kind of cuh-razy new genre of music; those of us who’ve been in the know for some time will just sit there and snicker.

  • This band amazes me in ways i cannot understand. I have been playing music for years now and sometimes i cant even comprehend what these musicians are doing. I love it! The only band i could even come close to comparing them to is the number 12 looks like you but with a girl singer and electronics. I cant wait to see them play live.

  • man. i want so bad to like this. i like music LIKE this, but what the crap?? it’s like everyone has a HXC crazy-title-having, dont-do-anything-for-more-than-20-seconds-in-a-song-before-changing-tempos-for-no-reason, hyper-colorful-album-art “metal” band these days.

there’s some talent here, i think…i mean as a musician i know some of the riffs and techy junk isn’t easy to play…but it’s all so arbitrary. crazy for the sake of crazy, because they are trying to be like another band they like.
    however, this music is annoying.
and the first song goes into a hardcore version of inspector gadget’s theme song. it’s so embarrassing…so not cute. not clever. not anything.

they over-highlight the girl’s voice like they have some popstar they need to lime-light, but it’s reeeeeaaaaaally embarrassing to listen to. currently, there’s a cricket wireless commercial on tv where kids sing “R E S P E C T” on home videos. i cringe when it comes on. i cringe when i listen to this cd. the more hardcore parts have their moments of ok-ness, and track 2 actually kicks off like it’s going to go someplace, but instead they do that arbitrary change-for-the-sake-of-change…you know, to be cuh-razee.

i’m a little bitter. i dont get why there has to be 1 or 2 good bands per subgenre (genghis tron KILLED it early on and no one can touch them since…why emulate something so great?)

  • I’ve not been following too much new American metal since I had a college radio show. So this was a pleasant surprise, especially since it was out of the context of the ‘Hipster Metal’ everyone seems to be so fond of complaining about.

Definitely the kind of music that you love it or hate it. Me, I laughed out loud the first time I heard “Kevin Bacon”, and have been entertained since by most of their songs.

  • This rock band from Louisiana defies the usual genre classifications. They classify themselves as grindcore and easy listening (they actually get the most plays for these two genres on MySpace), which is a tongue-in-cheek parody of their unique style. Their pixie female vocalist growls, screams and roars but also has the natural vocal range of a opera star – a great voice to say the least. These guys are superb musicians, dedicated to perfection and totally uncomprimising. I note that this EP is curently (6/11/2008) at #11 on the Sirius HardAttack list of top plays on the radio. A very tight band indeed, who clearly have a stellar career ahead of them and are as yet unsigned. This is a very high quality EP, recorded and produced by the band themselves in their apartment – it is an astonishing accomplishment for these kids in their early twenties from Shreveport, Louisiana.
