This album is Thin Lizzy’s farewell tour. The songs are delivered with intensity and excitement. ‘Don’t Believe a Word’ is a slower version originally recorded by Gary Moore and Phil on Gary’s ‘Back on the Streets’ LP. Sykes and Gorham play in all the songs (Gorham – Thin Lizzy’s longest lasting guitarist is at his best). All Thin Lizzy’s past guitar players play on this album: Snowy White on ‘Renegade’, and Gary Moore, Brian Robertson, and Eric Bell are back together for the last four songs giving Thin Lizzy 5 lead guitarists. Brian is featured on ‘Emerald’, Gary on ‘Black Rose’ and Eric on ‘The Rocker’.Phil sounds a bit rougher than ‘Live and Dangerous’ but his lyrics are relaxed with his usual much adlibbing. The sound quality is great. The graphics are shrunk from the original LP so all the credits are microscopic and the pictures are quite small. This album is a reissue, and reissues go out of print, so don’t delay if this is on your wish list.
