When D.I. frontman Casey Royer pounded the surf beat skins for So. Cal bands like the Detours and the legendary Adolescents he had a pretty good thing going. But, when he busted out on his own and started delivering stuff like “O.C. Life” and “Richard Hung Himself” he definietely lept into a league of his own. In fact, D.I. showcases how great the Adolecents really were. On this live disc there’s a lot of social commentary and buzz sawing riffs. Royer and his hired hands play with a lot of energy here, although the Rikk Agnew penned songs miss the punk fretboard master’s touch. I live no where near So. Cal, but these songs really speak about what America has become. Great stuff.
