wow, these guys rock. seriously rock. i love power trios and am always on the lookout for some good releases. this is it. take the best of early Guru Guru, Hendrix, Cream and you might have something like Earthless. a live recording with some incredible, stretched out jams. this live set is an absolute treat to listen to. no singing, all instrumental, and what a set they perform. i bought this on a whim and am delighted at what this band has to offer. i’ve not heard their studio material, but if anything like this live release, they are truly gods!
I thought their 2 studio albums were great (they are) but OH MY GOD!
This one is truly incredible. These guys create a symphony in cranking rock intrumentals. Isaiah Mitchell is one unbelievable guitarist! Earthless leave bands like the Ozric Tentacles (another one of my favorites) in their dust. If could give this 6 stars I would! WOW!
This is an amazing recording, band, and package. Heavy gram vinyl only makes the experience ethereal. Ok, really, if you like the long guitar solos on live versions of ‘dazed and confused’, and like instrumental psychedelic rock with a lot of thermamin and never ending crescendos, you will love these guys from San Diego. Check out their other albums, as each one has the same live feeling as well. And of course, check them out live if you can.
Recorded live at the Roadburn festival at Tilburg on 04/18/08 this is psychedelic, jambased triorock of the highest calliber. Adventurous and mindexpanding. Kind of Jimi Hendrix meets Hawkwind.
And although Isaiah Mitchell’s inventive guitarbrilliance is in the foreground, all three players have equal share – like Cream – in the collective musical magic. Mario Rubalcaba’s harddriving drummming, Mike Eginton’s fleetfingered thunderbass. All three technically accomplished, prolific musicians and fine improvisers. In fact Isaiah is able to solo non-stop in all 80+ min.s without sounding boring or repetitive. Sign of a true maestro.
Heartwarming and life-affirmative for an old psychonaut to hear a younger band like this. A ticket to inner bliss for everybody into honest and explorative music. Let the bass and drums massage your lower chakras while the guitar takes your soul on a ride.
