The tracks on this live CD release were recorded over a ten(that’s right – 10)night stay during December 7-16,1987.It sounds like ONE continuous show.I like that with a live album.Starts off with two older tunes “Birds Of Prey” and “Stealin’”.Two original members are here, drummer Lee Kerslake and guitarist Mick Box.Vocalist Bernie Shaw had JUST joined up with the band prior to this tour.Other classic Heep gems included are “The Wizard”,”July Morning”,”Easy Living” and though it’s not listed on the CD card,”Gypsy” is stuck in there somewhere.”That’s The Way It Is” tends to sound a bit familiar as it’s nice to see Uriah Heep carry on.
Released in 1999 Hell on Stage – Live has perfectly captured what fans can expect from a Manowar concert: nothing but pure excess energy and over the top uncompromising power. Dynamic changes and a great setlist make each concert a powerful experience which leaves no doubt to who the true ”Kings Of Metal” are. Features all-out versions of the classics Blood Of The Kings, The Power and Gates Of Valhalla and blasts them straight into your living room. The crowd participation on the intro of The Warrior’s Prayer is nothing short of breathtaking…
