Opeth - Would? (Alice in Chains cover)
A cover is not competition against the original. It is simply one great band paying tribute to another in their own style. This cover song is on the b-side to the "Burden" single by Opeth. This song shares the b-side with a track called "Mellotron Heart", which itself is an alternate version of the song "Porcelain Heart", a song that appears on their 2008 album "Watershed". The original version of "Would?" was the final track on Alice in Chains' 2nd full length album "Dirt", released in 1992. Lyrics by Jerry Cantrell Know me broken by my master Teach thee on child of love hereafter Into the flood again Same old trip it was back then So I made a big mistake Try to see it once my way Drifting body its sole desertion Flying not yet quite the notion Am I wrong? Have I run too far to get home Have I gone? And left you here alone If I would, could you?
