Alice In Chains - Sea Of Sorrow

Band: Alice In Chains Album: Facelift (1990) Song: Sea of Sorrow Lyrics: Mind, of destructive taste I choose... to stroll amongst the waste That was your heart Lost in the dark Call off the chase Walls of thought, strong and high As my castle crumbles with time... I think of you Oh, yes I do Such a crime You opened fire...and your mark was true You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you You opened fire... I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow As you wallow in a sea of sorrow Lines cut across my face Why you laugh at my disgrace I'll never know How far to go To reach that place You opened fire...and your mark was true You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you You opened fire... I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow As you wallow in a sea of sorrow Genre(s): Heavy Metal / Grunge Lyrical theme(s): Depression, Drugs, Suicide, Death, Pain Origin: United States of America (Seattle, Washington) Formed in: 1987 Current label: Virgin/EMI Status: Active Current line-up: William DuVall - Vocals, Guitars (2006-) (Comes With the Fall) Jerry Cantrell - Guitars, Vocals (1987-) (Ozzy Osbourne, session for Danzig) Mike Inez - Bass (1993-) (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society, Jerry Cantrell, Skin On Skin, Heart) Sean Kinney - Drums (1987-) (Jerry Cantrell) Former/past member(s): Vocals: Layne Staley (1987-2002, guitars on ocassion) (R.I.P. Do not add Heroin. It's a bootleg, and is not considered to be part of Alice in Chains' discography. The band was started under the name Alice 'N Chains in 1986. After Layne Staley met Jerry Cantrell in 1987, the band became Alice in Chains. Contrary to popular belief, Alice in Chains aren't just grunge. Among all the bands involved with the whole American grunge take over, Alice in Chains have always been the most metallic. Alice in Chains were on an "indefinite hiatus" from 1996 to 2006. However, the group did not officially break up until Layne Staley passed away due to an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 2002. Their 1994 EP "Jar of Flies" was the first EP to ever reach #1 on the Billboard 200 United States album chart, despite no tour to support it. This was the only EP thus far to ever gain this distinction, until the 2004 release of Jay-Z & Linkin Park's "Collision Course". Former bassist Mike Starr was 1 of 9 patients featured in the third season of the VH1 reality television show "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" and the second season of "Sober House With Dr. Drew" in 2010. Birth dates: Jerry Cantrell (18th March 1966, Tacoma, Washington, USA) William DuVall (6th September 1967, Atlanta, Georgia, USA) Mike Inez (14th May 1966, San Fernando, California, USA) Sean Kinney (27th May 1966, Renton, Washington, USA) Layne Staley (22nd August 1967, Kirkland, Washington, USA) - R.I.P. 5th April 2002 Mike Starr (4th April 1966, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA)
