I thought this album would never make it to CD, but I received it today and I’m very happy with it! I had the cassette version of Open Fire years ago and that tape unfortunately died a long time ago. I remembered the quality of the sound and performance of all of the live songs on this album so well that I could instantly tell them apart from other later live releases – and I was always disappointed in those releases because this album was so good. This new CD was all I hoped it would be: To my ear it sounds great! The mastering has great Y&T punch to it but isn’t overblown dynamically, and it’s a remarkably clear recording considering it was originally made over 20 years ago. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good. If you’re a fan of Y&T and especially of this album, definitely go for it!
