“Pure Instinct” is the Scorpions best album of music since “Love at First Sting” was released in 1984. The album is strong in that it is full of songs that sound like different times in their twenty-five year career. Songs like “Where the River Flows” and “Time Will Call Your Name” have a flavor of the Uli Roth/Michael Schenker era. Songs like “Wild Child” and “Girl I want to be with You” have a flavor of their 1980’s sound. While songs like “Does Anyone Know” and “Stone Inside my Shoe” exhibit their ability to establish new boundaries in their creativity.
