Job for a Cowboy Biography - Job for a Cowboy Discography - All Heavy Metal Bands

  • Package Quantity: (1) Piece
  • Type: No-Hub Torque Wrench

2009 sophomore release. In the two short years since the release of the band’s full length debut Genesis, Job For A Cowboy JFAC) has progressed from the band with the different name to one of the leading lights for heavy music in the 21st century. Ruination sees JFAC advance by leaps and bounds; the record is a concentrated hotbed of astounding dexterity, scorching attack, sleek arrangement and thundering musical muscle. Infectious riffs, keen dynamics and the assertive vocals of rising star front man Jonny Davy combine to produce an album that is at once powerful, expressive, confident and commanding.

  • I had to redo this review, because after listening to Genesis I can’t say Ruination is better than Genesis. I was so wrong about how great Genesis is, Ruination is a great follow up, I have listened to Ruination at least 2 hours a day since it was released. Ruination lyrics are catchy to understand, I can understand what the lyrics mean more on Genesis than Ruination. I think a lot of people will like Ruination the same as Genesis, but for me Doom is also great. Ruination made my favorite 40 Cd’s out of 500. It’s hard to pick my favorite songs on Ruination. I like the CD way too much. I will list my favorite songs in order off of Ruination.
    1. March to Global Enslavement
    2. Lords of Chaos
    3. Butchering the Enlightened
    4. Regurgitated Disinformation
    5. Summon the Hounds
    6. To Detonate and Exterminate
    7. Ruination
    8. Unfurling a Darkened Gospel
    9. Psychological Immorality
    10. Constitutional Masturbation

  • ok. the first time i heard JFAC was when doom had barely been released and i was like wow this is a really good band i wonder if they will last?!? well eventually Genesis came out and to tell you the truth im not sure what all the hype was about. it was rather bland besides a couple songs. well i heard ruination was coming out so i thought i would give it a try. wow im glad i did. i like this album even better than doom. these guys have definetly matured their sound over the years, and ruination definetly shows it. you can tell some real effrot was put into writing and recording this album. a must buy!

  • Ruination is a nice little follow-up from genesis.. It’s quite a bit faster and more complex than previous JFAC material. I think it’s safe to say that JFAC is growing up and is maturing into a respectable death metal band. Doom ep is a solid debut, don’t get me wrong but they’ve gotten alot more complex over the years. Doom is good deathcore but i like them more death metaly. Unfurling a Darkened Gospel is my new favorite jfac song. It is epic to say the least.

  • I hate the whole genre of Deathcore bands…JFAC always got mixed in with all those crappy bands and I never checked them out till this release. Some friends said it’s straight up death metal this time around, saw them live and they impressed me…What can I say, This album totally kicks A**! Never judge a band by there fans or labels. Most Job For A Cowboy fans couldn’t tell you who Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Cynic, Death, Morbid Angel, or Nile were. Buy Now!

  • Love JFAC’s new album ruination. My favorite release from them, although i don’t own doom or genesis, i’ve heard most of the songs from them. I personally hate Doom era JFAC, love the more death metal approach to their music. My favorites are unfurling a darkened gospel, summon the hounds, constitutional masturbation, butchering the enlightened, lords of chaos, to detonate and exterminate, and ruination. Pretty much the whole album! the only song i dislike is march to global enslavement, cause it kinda lags on, but I don’t hate the song. I definatly recommend this cd for any death metal fan. P.S.- i’m a male using my moms name
