David Coverdale sounds superb. His voice sounds smooth and yet packed with emotion. This version of “soldier of Fortune” is worth the price of the disc alone; but there is so much more. All of the Whitesnake songs shine here, as once you remove all of the layers screaming guitars, loud vocals, and thundering drums, you have a good pop song. My only critcism is that it’s light on guitar work.
