i knew this was going to be quite an adventure to listen to. after buying “seas of cheese” and finally realizing my love for it and then sinking my teeth into the “misc. debris” ep, it was time to continue my newfound relationship with the band called primus. seemed to me the best way to go would be to check out what their live show would be like from a distance. so i picked up “suck on this” and discovered some vintage primus. it was time to try to catch up and this was the perfect way to do it. say what you will about live albums, but if you appreciate a good show in a cozy, smoke-filled bar with a hundred strangers you don’t know, you’ll appreciate this, especially if you know what you’re getting yourself into from the moment you push the play button. i love the live version of “groundhogs day” as well as “the heckler.” for a while, it was the only track off “suck on this” that was missing as a studio version on a later disc, so i always wondered what i would sound like. luckily, i finally found out at the end of “antipop”.
