  • this album differs greatly from their 2 older albums. being so engulfed into the sound of “count your blessings,” and “this is what the edge of your seat was made for” would make one think that they can buy this new album without even previewing it beforehand. WRONG. the sound is SO different from the previous albums, that its almost like they should change the band’s name, all together. this new sound seems to cry out for attention from listeners of “hardcore/tough guy” music.
it’s almost like they were trying to appease the majority of the fans instead of write what they really could to write. if you listen to their very first album and watched footage of them performing, it is so soooo apparent that they put much more enthusiasm and creativity into their music. now, it is simply “generic” and it has the “crowd pleaser” taste. the death metal of “count your blessings” and the grindcore-thrash feel of “This is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For” is much more reputable because of the severity of creativity and passion that seemed to be put into the music. i did not like this album at all. there was no technicality or creativity put into it. even the cover art of the album seems like it is just going with the crowd. if it were at all possible, i would rate this album a zero because of its low sense of creativity, mainstream sound, look, and feel.
i am sorry and sad to say, “this band has lost its roots….”
