The riffs and vocal melodies are very cool and make every song memorable. They blend together metal with regular rock and even a little punk and they play their instruments very well. The singer is very dynamic and can do a lot with his voice, as he does most of the screaming and all of the singing. This is serious music unlike a lot of the popular music today, plus they can play live. They are extremely catchy without changing their sound to do so and are arguably the best British/Welsh band today. Buy this or at least the regular music only version and you will be impressed I promise.

”United Abominations” is an album that throws back to the sound and energy of classic albums. With songs like ”Washington Is Next!” and ”Amerikhastan” it is a commentary on today’s tumultuous world and the United Nations.Nearly 25 years after its formation, Megadeth is making its most brilliant work, a feat that some acts find unthinkable––maybe impossible––after half that time. When Mustaine sings about politics it’s never in the abstract, faraway sense; his lyrics are riddled with references to the here and now––the boundaries and bombs that make the threat of war––or the threat of doom–– real. So it’s no real surprise that this release features lyrics liberally peppered with references to Afghanistan, 9/11, NATO and the like. Of course, no one buys a record or a ticket to a show specifically to hear five-minute polemics and that’s where Mustaine’s real talent––a talent for creating ear-perking riffs and solid, carefully constructed songs––comes in. The album may require that you read the newspaper on a regular basis but it also allows you to let loose with abandon and excitement. ”Never Alone… a Call to Arms,” ”Gears of War” and ”Play for Blood” are remarkable because they recall the classic metal of Judas Priest, Diamond Head, and the like and prove that there’s nothing quite like an overdriven boogie-based riff to excite the most primitive impulses in the listener. Mustaine makes a bid for commercial radio by revisiting Youthanasia’s ”A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)” with Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia. It’s his most emotionally honest vocal performance to date and one that will no doubt finally earn him wider critical recognition. ––Jedd Beaudoin

The songs are great and the bonus tracks just rock.
Every fan would like it. If you havent heard much from bfmv then this album would definatly make you understand how talented they are. Interesting for people who enjoy classic heavy metal.
Okay, so if you like catchy sing along choruses, some huge simplistic metal riffs and the odd bit of shouting then this band are for you. The Poison is a great album with a variation of songs, from the more emotional songs such as ‘All These Things I Hate Revolve Around Me’ to the fist pumping ‘Room 409′. This is really an excellent album, which is a good base for those who are beginning to get into the heavier metal bands. With a couple of songs thrown from their superb EP this album is topped off with the majestic ‘The End’ which really hits home what these Welsh metallers are about.
This is one the best Bullet For My Valentine CD yet. Every song is great. I would highly recommend this CD for anyone that enjoys good music.
When I first saw this item I was browsing around the internet just killing time. I already own the original release of The Poison, so I was a little hesitant to order this for 4 new tracks and a dvd. I wish I had bought it as soon as i noticed it. The extra tracks are amazing and the dvd is fantastic. BFMV is one of the best new bands I’ve heard in awhile. The music is melodic and heavy. If you do not own this cd do yourself a favor and buy it. TODAY!!!
