This is a great disc with a lot of depth and changes. Track 5 is my favorite.
This extended Behind the Music details the tumultuous life and career of hard rock pioneer Dave Mustaine and his band, Megadeth. Kicked out of Metallica, the band he co-founded, in 1982, the guitarist/vocalist got his revenge by forming Megadeth. His mission statement for his new group: ”…to be the fastest, utmost furious heavy metal band ever.” But if anybody embodied the philosophy ”live hard, play hard” it was Mustaine, who battled heroin addiction for nearly 10 years. Five lineups, 16 trips to rehab, one near-death experience, and more than 20 million albums later, Megadeth have more than made their mark in metal. Also included: ”too hot for MTV/VH1” version of the video for ”Moto Psycho.”

Metal Album Reviews[RSS]
Received in the mail earlier this week and I can’t get it out of my CD carousel. Absolutely the heirs to Dream Theater and in a league all their own. This is a band like RUSH that I hope will put out many many more CD’s in the future. Every track here simply rocks like no other with very socially aware lyrics. The sound is crystal clear from track 1 to track 9. This is their most mature release to date with the coherency of a band that is totally in sync. Cannot recommend highly enough for fans of Prog Metal as this is the cream at the top of the barrel!!! Enjoy!!!
I honestly haven’t heard the music on this album in a few weeks or about a month, but these are talented progressive rock musicians if you enjoy that type of music. It’s louder than church music if you are a devout Christian, but is earthly excellence and if you’ve ever heard of famous bands like Dream Theater or say Cynic or Rush or Porcupine Tree, you will probably enjoy this music. I can play drums and don’t have the resources to play as well as this drummer, but he’s gifted and you will enjoy the music of the other rock music bands too I mentioned if you’re into what’s now called progressive or even jazz fusion rock music to listen to.
