Motörhead Biography - Motörhead Discography - All Heavy Metal Bands

No Description AvailableNo Track Information AvailableMedia Type: CDArtist: MOTORHEADTitle: WE ARE MOTORHEADStreet Release Date: 05/16/2000<Domestic or Import: DomesticGenre: HEAVY METALWho could’ve guessed back in 1977–when ex-Hawkwind bassist Lemmy Kilmister’s new band, Motörhead, released their self-titled debut–that Lemmy’s career would some day be measured in decades? The rapid-fire metal/punk group seemed to have ignited a fast-burning wick that would lead to certain explosion. Yet here’s Motörhead in 2000 still hammering out speedy, thick metal. We Are Motörhead finds Lemmy in his mid-50s barking out ”See Me Burning” as the youthful Mikkey Dee (of Dokken fame) powers his double-bass beat. A trio once again, with guitarist Phillip Campbell holding down the guitar slot, Motörhead slice the speed a bit thinner than on earlier albums such as Ace of Spades and the classic No Sleep ’til Hammersmith. But Lemmy is as irascible as ever, as evidenced by the touching, minor-key ballad ”One More Fucking Time.” –Andrew Bartlett

  • Motorhead are by far one of in not the best heavy metal band that has ever graced the earth. The opening track is worth the album price all by itself, but as with most Motorhead albums you will be treated to a whole album of solid, balls to the walls, uncompromizing metal. What has made Motorhaed such an amazing band is the fatc that they did not alter their sound like many metal greats, they did not sell out and destory their legacy, spit in fans faces and then come back posing to be what they once were (metallica fail) they have always been true and simply Motorhead. If you want the best, you can get the best by picking up this Motorhead album, the title says it all, they are Truly Motorhead and truly metal!

  • Maybe not the best Motorhead disc ever released, but still worth owning a copy of.Surprisingly enough,on the CD’s ballad,”One More F**king Time”,Lemmy can actually carry out the feat rather well.Other decent tracks include “Stay Out Of Jail”,the Sex Pistol’s cover “God Save The Queen”,”Wake The Dead” and the title cut “We Are Motorhead” which pretty much says it all.Good to take off the rack from time to time for a spin in your CD player.

  • Appropriately titled “We Are Motorhead”, this is a great studio album of fresh new (and still steaming!) tracks, released in time to celebrate 25 years of the band’s earth-shattering career. This is Motorhead doing what they do best. Playing fast, aggressive, heavy and filthy! Apart from the ballad as the middle song (which is essential to give out exhausted hearts a rest!) every track in this masterpiece just charges through like a truck careering down a hill and mercilessly crushing everything in its path. Guaranteed to blow your speakers and shoot that roof off the top of your house!A must-have for all fans!

  • Fast, tight, and loud. Speedburning metal at its best. This is one of Motorhead’s top three. Theres no hit here just consistent fast powerful metal. This cd took me by surprise, sounds like they took a big shot of adrenaline when they made this one. This and AC/DC’s new one make these new rap rock bands look like an impotent joke.

  • Motorhead’s new release “We are Motorhead” is a return to brutality for the band. Gone are the standard rock or blues riffs, and in there place is that buzzsaw sound we all know and love. This is easily their heaviest album since “Sacrifice”. The opening track “See me Burning” is a rapid fire scorcher featuring that classic double bass drum thunder heard in other Motorhead thrashers. Most songs are uptempo, and Phil Campbells leadwork sounds spontaneous, and top-notch. The closing track “We are Motorhead” is an instant classic and one of the best “theme-songs” I’ve heard from ANY band. The only weak point (and this is minor) is the production. While not awful, the guitars sound like they needed to be mixed higher,as the overall sound is a little bottom heavy. Still, a must have for Motorhead fans, as well as fans of loud rock/metal.
