This album is almost a physical assault. It is HEAVY. It is nothing like Sacrament or Ashes of the Wake. It has to grow on you… largely because as soon as the CD begins playing LOG will beat you into a coma so it might take you a few tries to get through it. Did I mention this album is heavy? My first impression was, “Blech! Overkill! And he’s singing a bit differently!” But you know what? Wrath is damn good. It isn’t my favorite, but it’s damn good. And it’s exciting. LOG has said that they are a punk band that plays metal and Wrath is a beautiful illustration of that… its sheer relentlessness reminds me of my days of listening to hardcore. It kind of makes me twitchy with energy. If you have a heart condition or any kind of seizures avoid this album…. but then again, it ain’t a half-bad way to go.
