Humble Pie was a rock band from England, finding success both in the UK and the US. They are remembered for songs such as "Black Coffee" "30 Days in the Hole", "I Don't Need No Doctor", and "Natural Born Boogie". The original band lineup featured Steve Marriott from the Small Faces, vocalist and guitarist Peter Frampton from The Herd, former Spooky Tooth bassist Greg Ridley and seventeen-year-old drummer Jerry Shirley. "The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake" was a single released in 1969 by English rock band Humble Pie, who were one of the first British supergroups, formed in 1969. Although released in a number of European countries, including West Germany and the Netherlands, it was not made available in other worldwide territories and is not included on the official list of Immediate Records single releases. The first live performance of this song by the band, was during their appearance at the beginning of the Bilzen Festival in Belgium,on 29 August 1969. Peter Frampton left the band in 1971 after the release of their live album "Performance - Rockin' The Fillmore", to pursue a solo career. Frampton would eventually find solo success in 1976 with his fourth album, "Frampton Comes Alive". Humble Pie would carry on until they disbanded in 1975.
