Lawn Maintenance, Part 2: Fertilize & Amend Soil
To have a great lawn maintaining it by using a little fertilizer can make your lawn stay healthy. Most lawns need extra nutrients and fertilizer and adding special soil conditioners will do the trick. One way to keep your lawn looking thick is to over-seed. The easiest way to see what your lawn needs is to use a soil test. If your lawn is acidic, add lime. If it has high clay content, add gypsum. In addition to these nutrients, fertilize your lawn with a lawn starting fertilizer. Apply the lawn fertilizer according to the directions. Make sure that when over-seeding, you don't use a Weed & Feed fertilizer. Lastly, once you have completed your fertilization, make sure to properly clean your shoes and fertilizer spreader.
