Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride (HQ 1080p HD Upscale)
"Magic Carpet Ride" is a rock song written by John Kay and Rushton Moreve from the Canadian-American hard rock band Steppenwolf. The song was initially released in 1968 on the album The Second. It was the lead single from that album, peaking at No. 3 in the US, and becoming the band's second-biggest hit, surpassed only by "Born to Be Wild". The song is also considered the first modern rock video. The single version differs noticeably from the album version with a different vocal take by Kay used for the first verse of the song and differing instrumental balances. The single version is also much shorter than the album version, with a running time of 2 minutes and 55 seconds (the album version is 4 minutes and 25 seconds long). Lead singer John Kay wrote the song; the lyrics "I like to dream, right between my sound machine" came from his inspiration from listening to a hi-fi home stereo system he bought with royalties from his first album. Info source: http://en.wikipedia.org I've only got one vob source for this and the quality is horrific. Well you really can't expect anything decent because this is from 1968 after all. Video images back then were an atrocious eyesore compared to todays standards. By removing as much noise from the video as possible I've made it much nicer to look at. The lack of detail/definition is irreparable of course and nothing can be done about that. Only slight tweaks have been done to color and lighting. Not much sense doing much when the video image is this bad. A little sharpening was done but only a moderate amount. Doing more would look ridiculous and bizarre with this dinosaur video. The audio was a bit of a disappointment although it was in stereo. This obviously came from a videotape transfer, because tape hiss was painfully apparent. Well the crappy hiss has been greatly reduced and I've tweaked the sound in my sound studio to improve on the rubbish it was. Came out quite nice compared to what it was before. This is the best quality online for this fabulous hit from so long ago and I hope you enjoy it! Be aware that some evil people will download my clip restorations, upload them to their own channel and then try to take credit for my hard work.
