The Melvins Biography
Biography
The Melvins are an American sludge metal power trio from Montesano, Washington, who took their name from a supervisor at the town's Thriftway store, where singer/guitarist Buzz "King Buzzo" Osborne worked as a clerk. "Melvin" was greatly despised by other employees, and Osborne and drummer Dale Crover felt it to be an appropriately ridiculous name. Along with Mudhoney, The Melvins are considered the founding fathers of grunge music, influencing Nirvana and many other key Seattle grunge bands.
