This review is from: Black Ice (Audio CD) There is a good album, people. Mind you, I'm quite easy to find when it comes to AC / DC. I hug her all-sound-same style and only a relatively solid performance. But Black Ice is probably the best release since Fly on the wall (the under rated, IMHO). Let me unfold. The production on Black Ice is everything a hard rock record should have. Each instrument sounds by mixing clear. The snare sounds great. The guitars sound fantastic, the amp distortion, the grainy, if they push it, but clean, if slightly. Seriously, it is less “distortion” as pretty much any album in the Brian Johnson-era sound, but still difficult. The mix is not the wall is limited, and you hear / feel the drive to play the guitar, so that when they return from the ears of the only break they get like a live performance. Also, they showed enough restraint in the low-end EQ, that even when I crank my stock car stereo to the bass does not flub out. And after listening to ten songs offset way, my ears are not driven by volume wars Pummel as on so many records today. It is probably mixed “loud” compared zu'70 's records, but much more dynamic than almost all heavy music of today.
and Brian Johnson sounds really good! Really good. Probably the best since the Flick Switch again. I do not know what physical work, which he completed in his voice, but he is lost, the over-to-the-ordinary, I could hear about Stiff Upper Lip. They keep him in the middle of the mix and not in front of the door, but it works well. He is not buried in the mix how to fly on the wall.
Angus plays slide on a melody that I first thought would be short when I read, but really excellent. Sounds awesome. Williams and Rudd sound familiar, Williams bass with a slightly more important role. He plays eighth grade pumps for virtually every tune on Rudd's on straight 4 / 4 beats. The rhythms are very allsoundsame, however, if you're looking for something to criticize. The beats, tempos, and eighth note bass are fairly predictable. But it's AC / DC after.
There really are no filler tunes on the album. Every song rocks really well. And unlike their last five albums or so, Johnson's voice does not rub on me after listening to five or six songs straight through. Every song is about a seven, eight or nine to ten scale. On the other hand, I'm not sure which song is a ten-ten scale, so that the choice of radio-single less than obvious. But, again, all songs are at least seven, so it makes no sense, the album, in which energy will be sucked. The band is very tight. I know it is a studio album, so perhaps a “duh” statement. But they play together, so very tight, which is a part of their own sound. It also makes their sound really predictable, along with the predictable rhythms, as mentioned above.
texts, there is not much going on here. Most of the sexual innuendo ihrer'70 's und'80' s albums a thing of the past, this is probably a good thing after tunes like “Cover You in Oil” and “Stiff Upper Lip” it seems to me that they also try damn hard (no pun). The songs are mostly about rocking or loud or whatever. Often, it is “Whatever,” I'm not sure I could get a test over the content of lyrical content in this space. The Young brothers wrote the lyrics again, as they have done in the last few albums. I will say that they do not all really stupid articles on Black Ice, which is a nice change from the previous albums, which all had a few songs that you think “WTF?” About the texts.
In summary, there is no new ground broken here, that will not surprise anyone. But the production is absolutely awesome, Johnson sounds better than he has a right to, and the band plays tight as a drum. I may be a dinosaur, but AC / DC have a unique sound to me that I am not always a lot of new groups. In fact, with so many bands like The Sword copying Black Sabbath so true, I wonder why there are not more bands from the theft of AC / DC formula. They have Buck Cherry and a few others, but still no band sounds like AC / DC. I had expected this album to sound like Stiff Upper Lip, which was ok but not great. But Black Ice sounds better than Stiff Upper Lip.

If you like AC/DC you will probably love this CD. If you do not you probably will not enjoy it. Basically it is what your taste in music is about.

    AC/DC’s longest awaited album
When I found out AC/DC was finaly releasing their new album in 2008 I was extreemly excited. But what I didn’t like was how this was supposed to be a Wal-mart exclusive album…

This review is from: Black Ice (Audio CD) AC / DC have finally the new material in eight years of waiting, not to mention the three years or teased to us, the release for as long as new material was written and recorded. If I were less loyal, I have said that the new album would be the next Chinese Democracy, which date back X amount of time, until all lost interest. But here is the new album, Black Ice, as promised. I must say it was worth the wait.
The lead single “Rock N Roll Train” was on radio for over a month, and the critics silenced right away (and if they have negative things to say you would not to hear is more than the sheer volume of the trail!). All of the classic AC / DC components are here: Ang and time Chunky guitar chords, Cliff's driving eighth note bass, Phil's mechanical drum line, and of course, Brian's fatal scream. I was slack-Jawed, when I first heard “Train” on the radio, and thank God, the rest of the album lives up to the line.
When you first listen to the album as a whole, I noticed a shift towards more melodic chord progressions, but instead of another Stiff Upper Lip, the songs remain severe, with some songs ( “Anything Goes, “in particular) sound like the melodic side of The Razor's Edge, to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. There are also a lot of songs, a tribute to AC / DC 's'80-'85 era ( “Money”). About all the fans of AC / DC should not be disappointed with Black Ice, than anything the band is known and loved for the here, in the same time, those who do not like AC / DC should steer clear of this album as well, despite the amazing Rock 'n Roll you are missing.
one thing I was really looking forward to the hearing has been extended and ripping guitar solos from Angus á la “Whole Lotta Rosie.” Of course, there are solos on black ice, but on a lot of songs, they seem a bit restrained, and only when I swing chair, the chorus seems to cut off what Angus is trying to say. Even the song structures do not seem as varied as previous albums (yes, even AC / DC 's standards). This is not really a make-or-break point on this album, it would be cool to hear some real barn-burners like “Landslide” from the Flick Of The Switch, or “Let There Be Rock”.
At the same time, the boys actually try new things, there's slide guitar work on “Stormy May Day”, and a quiet intro riff to “Rock N Roll Dream “, which contrasts with the heavy chords of the chorus in the same song.
AC / DC really brought the rock 'n roll with this album, and the large amount of times the word “Rock” and “Rock' n Roll” in the texts only to this fact. The album clocks in about 56 minutes, and it seemed like it was finished in half that time, for me, a pleasant, if not, great album. Black Ice compared to Brian Johnson-era AC / DC, it is an absolute return to after the slightly disappointing Stiff Upper Lip. This comes close to the absolute best that I think AC / DC are capable of at this point in her career, and for these reasons I have this 4.5 stars.

BLACK ICE = CLASSIC (BLACK IN BLACKER)
Many people think this ablum is not even close to classic status. If you don’t like the album deal with it because this is “unique” AC/DC, in fact this is the most unique AC/DC…

    Black Ice by AC/DC
Black Ice by AC/DC is mediocre. The first two songs are reminiscent of their old stuff, but the rest is pretty vanilla. I am glad I bought it used at a discount price.

This review is from: Black Ice (Audio CD) To view the music on “Black Ice”, AC / DC 's first CD in eight years, the obvious would be redundant. Then again, AC / DC has never been known for experimenting with their music. However, with songs like “Rock N Roll Train,” “She Likes Rock N Roll”, “Rock N Roll Dream” and “Rocking All The Way”, it is obvious that AC / DC is not interested in new ways. Even titles like “Big Jack” and “money” bring flashbacks to previous song title. Besch value next to “Black Ice” is a big improvement over the last two AC / DC versions, “Ball Breaker” and “Stiff Upper Lip”. The songs remain in the memory banks is much easier this time. For most I liked what I heard, but I could not, this CD a five-star test. A five-star review should apply to classics like “Back In Black,” “Highway To Hell” and “Let There Be Rock”. While “Black Ice” is not a terrible release not at all in comparison to earlier versions. Nevertheless, it is recommended.

This is another awesome album from AC/DC , it’s very good to see that they show no signs of slowing down , Brian sounds just as great as he always has , one of their best.

    Rock, Rock ’til They Drop
For a band whose genius rests largely in their minimalist approach, a lot’s actually happened to AC/DC since the last time they released any new material to the masses with 2000’s…

My expectations were exceeded with “Black Ice”
I expected AC/DC’s final CD to be average at best–like Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” (okay, “Death Magnetic” is a tad bit below average).
