Gojira – The Way of All Flesh Reviews

The Way of All Flesh

Following the immense praise of From Mars To Sirius and recurring trips across the Atlantic for North American touring alongside the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and Behemoth among others, GOJIRA established its stranglehold on the extreme metal spectrum with a linguist s touch, a lyricist s finesse, and a crushingly heavy live show that left audiences astounded, establishing the band s live performance as a spot-on recreation of the band s increasingly adept and intell (more…)

    REAL MUSIC
    THIS IS REAL MUSIC
. MUSIC THAT SOUNDS LIKE MUSIC, NOT JUST A COUPLE GIUTARS, A DRUMMER, AND A LOUSEY SINGER. THESE GUYS CAN PLAY.

Gojira is a band that is very unlike other in a scene where a lot of extreme bands seem to be just carbon copies of other extreme bands. On this particular trip Gojira find their voice and their influence on the wearing a bit on the proverbial sleeve. Well, for the first time I heard Gojira in an interview that Randy Blythe, and he has much to recommend this French men, so it is to say the least, and a long story short, I have from Mars to Sirius soon after. At first I could not wrap my head around fMtS and considered it a waste of hard earned money. I have the disc a couple of chances and put them away. Gojira will not stay around for long, because I was pretty bored and wanted to hear something different, and there was fMtS stared at me, daring me to make it another go and this time it was a really new experience! From that moment on I was a fan, and how fMts, The Way of All Flesh is 100% original and a breath of fresh air! There is no other band like them, if you have not heard it another chance Gojira! You will not be disapointed.

Gojira has things up a notch. Firstly, the production is amazing. The drums sound fantastic, and the drummer is brilliant in his creativity. The album as a whole, only a very satisfying feeling. It is not easy for the music this complex and hectic to sound this good.
songs. Holy Christ. The creativity and the ability of today's metal musicians to me again and again. Just when I think Opeth has it so far as it can go – or Strapping Young Lad and Lamb of God, or Meshuggah – Gojira releases this monster. Imagine if Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Lamb of God, Clutch, Mastodon, Opeth and Fear Factory, all of their creative ideas into an album and I think it sounds very much like the way of all flesh.
Gojira in the background, none of these bands and can be overtaken them all with this album. Fans of heavy music would be wise to it. It is devastating and merciless. It is like an approachable Meshuggah album, without the power, creativity and originality, a band like Meshuggah so breathtaking.
metal album of the year? Yes. Metal album of the decade so far? Quite possible.

    Gojira Unleashed
Gojira- interesting name for a metal band. It’s how the Japanese originally referred to Godzilla. And speaking of which, this album at times sounds like it could be the…

This review is from: The Way of All Flesh (LP Record) I could not resist writing a review for this. It's too good.
If you are unfamiliar with Gojira, their older albums, you can only buy these and save time. This album is different from “From Mars to Sirius”, “The Link” and “Terra Incognita”, but it is still Gojira. It is unique, the songs have very different view it, and they give you a sense of deepening atmosphere with each track, but everybody has the familiar tone and Gojira madness.
This album is much heavier than the previous albums, and whether this is a good or a bad thing, is up to you. For me, it's a good thing, but of course also a lot of change is a bad thing. I think they have a good balance on this album, a very heavy album, but with an incredible feature that only Gojira could achieve if they do not change so much as to “sell” or its past, fans disappointed.
Gojira, this album particularly, is for people who Love Metal, Death Metal specifically. For people who like their metal very hard, but still have melody and uniqueness in a (mostly) bland genre where most other bands do not even compare. Each track sounds different, without being heavy and dark sound. It has melody and industrial elements, and brings them all together in one incredible package.
If you like any of the above descriptions, then Gojira be your God.

VERY TALENTED MUSICALLY, VOCALS STILL LACKING FOR ME
EVERY TRACK ON THIS ALBUM IS FANTASTIC FROM THE INSTRUMENTAL SIDE OF THINGS, THE VOCALS SEEM A LITTLE MORE RASPY AND WHISPERY THAN THEY DID ON “MARS TO SIRIUS.

    Very Interesting
I’d heard a couple of songs on satellite radio and thought I’d give the album a try. I’m impressed.

The french production has always been either pathetic, or limited by the language, nothing to export (ADX tried, but the band is so bad !

    Unbelievably good
I ended up being introduced to Gojira a few years back when they opened for a concert I was attending (can’t remember the headliner, but The Haunted were playing as well)…

Enter One of the Freshest Metal Bands Around
Gojira’s ‘The Way of All Flesh’ is 12 songs of heavy chugging metal riffage.
Compared to From Mars to Sirius, the musicianship is tight and the record sounds warmer,…
