Dark Tranquillity Pull Out Of Arch Enemy's Tour

The following message was posted on the official web site of Dark Tranquillity:

"We're sorry to announce that due to several reasons beyond our control, we're not able to do the previously announced Arch Enemy/Trivium [European] tour in September/October. We were looking forward to the trip and examined all possible solutions, but at the end of the day we have no option but to cancel our participation. Apologies to the people that got their hopes up as well as to the Arch Enemy camp."

Suidakra Vocalist Leaves Band

This statement was posted on the official website of the German melodic death metal band:

"Firstly, a big thank you goes out to the audience at the Summerbreeze Open Air festival, who made a real party of Suidakra 's early morning set! Also, thanks to Johannes who did a fantastic job on the bagpipes. The band are looking forward to playing live with him again and possibly even including some of his efforts on the next record.

In contrast to that, however, I can confirm that Matthias will not be participating on the next Suidakra album. After the Summerbreeze festival, it was decided by the band as a whole that it would be best for everyone if Matthias stepped down from his position in the band. Matthias will therefore play his last Suidakra show at the Bloodstock festival next weekend. After this decision was made, the band contacted their former guitarist/singer, and much to their surprise (and the surprise of many fans, no doubt!), Marcel is willing and able to rejoin Suidakra as a full-time member! You'll be able to catch Marcel on stage with the others at the remaining Suidakra shows after Bloodstock. Suidakra will then take a break from touring until mid-2006, in order to concentrate 100% on the songwriting for the next album. Info on all the remaining confirmed shows can be found here. Catch them while you can, because it'll be your last chance for a while!

Meanwhile, Suidakra are looking forward to their first show in the UK (and they "hope the beer won't be too warm" -- don't let them down, Derby!). I'll see you there, if you're going! I hope the Pepsi isn't too warm :-)"

The Legion Continues Writing New Album

he Swedish black metal band The Legion have posted the following message on their official website:

"The progress of our new album is coming along fine and we’re in the middle of recording the last parts. The vocals on this recording are being done, mainly by bassist Lars and some additional parts by Emil and David. We are still not certain who’s going to handle the vocals in the future so if you’re interested in trying out for us, please send us a mail with some kind of sample where we can hear you scream. "

Nasum "Grand Finale" Artwork And Release Details Revealed

The following message has been posted at Nasum's official website by drummer Anders Jakobson:

"This past week the artwork and booklet design for the last (?) Nasum release, the collection “Grind Finale” was finalized and sent to the printer. Now I finally can give you a preview of the front cover for this release.

The cover has been made by Relapse’s art department - Orion Landau did the front cover and disc design and Jonathan Canady did the booklet design. I’ve worked very closely with these guys and the result is quite stunning if you ask me. I am totally satisfied with everything.

One of the most important things about the collection has been the packaging. I wanted this release to be something special, something that made it worth buying instead of downloading, which sadly has been the option for many people these days. Not surprising Relapse shared this idea and worked with me to find the ultimate package.

We decided to do the same kind of CD package as Tool used for their “Salival” release a couple of years ago. The package has hard covers with the two discs on the insides and between the covers an 80 (!) page booklet with liner notes, lyrics and lots of photos and artwork, some previously not seen before. I guarantee that “Grind Finale” will be worth the money it costs! (Note that we will not have the traycase and plastic box that “Salival” has!)

The release dates are as follows:
USA: October 25th
Europe: October 31st
Japan: November (the Japanese edition will not include any bonusstuff!)"

Amen Records New Album In October

Amen has posted the following message on their official website:

"After going into the studio soon to record with a band called Narcolepsy in England (we will have more details on this project soon) Casey will be going into the studio in October with self-proclaimed "Biggest Amen fan in the world" Shannon Larkin to record new material for the next album. A label has not yet been confirmed at this time, but there are a couple very promising deals that Amen is looking into, and you can be sure that they will want to get the best distribution possible. If things go well, the band would like to put out albums much more frequently than in the past. We'll post more details as they come in.

Also, just to remind everyone that Scum's "Gospels For The Sick" hits shelves on September 6 in Europe, and comes to US shores on October 4. For anyone unaware, this is an album Casey recently recorded in Norway with Samoth (Zyklon, ex-Emperor), Faust (ex-Emperor), Cosmocrator (Mindgrinder) and Happy Tom (Turbonegro), among others. Anyone who has heard this album will tell you that it's very exciting, and not to be missed. Scum will also be performing at the Underworld in London for their record release party on September 9."

First up we went to Jacob Hansen Studio for 1 week to complete: guitar, vocal and synth, and all the pieces in the puzzle came together exellent. There are Soooo much melody and yet fucking heavy parts on this record - just wait and hear.

The day after we finished at Jacob´s studio, Morten and Lars went to Antfarm to begin the mixing part of the record. The day after we finished at Jacob´s studio, Morten and Lars went to Antfarm to begin the mixing part of the record."
