Oceano – Depths Reviews

All Music Guide
OCEANO’s mysteriously brutish grace will prove impossible to resist.

DEPTHS is an album that hits hard from track 1 to track 15. Featuring the hit single, “District of Misery,” alongside such bone crushing songs like “Samael the Destroyer,” “Plague Campaign” and the cult favorite instrumental, “Depths,” this is one album that does not let up. Even the “Into The Depths” bonus DVD is filled with so much raw intensity that you will have to destroy whatever is in (more…)

I have to metal for more than 25 years. I know fashion when waves come and go. Deathcore is at its height and will probably for many years to come. Oceano is what I think “Deathcore” should be. You have the hardcore / metalcore elements with the full song about death. This band is brutal. I've heard other bands call themselves brutally. This band is the hike. If this album with the intent to not like “Deathcore” Then you are in the wrong genre. Go buy Slipknot or Lamb of God (both good bands). Hands a winner along with Suicide Silence.

Very great efforts Oceano! Depths is a very FRIENDLY DOUBLE BASS DRUM Deathcore album. The guys are something new in the scene, there were very high expectations for this album. PLUS HERE on the West Coast This album is quite easy to find and one for $ 10 NEW WITH U.S. record stores. Makes it impossible to NOT try if you havent yet heard them. THINK Impending DOOM MEETS through the eyes of the dead. Bottom Line: A Deathcore FANS MUST HAVE CD.

One reason to listen to Deathcore

scene to lay waste to everything and everyone.

Here we go again, the whole genre was played Deathcore. When I played, I mean, it's been used and sold, until you can no longer one ounces out of it.
Oceano are prime examples of what are good musicians play bland music. Unfortunately for the other reviewers zeal, the same can not be said for me. A lot of the margins are unpleasant. He had the stuff for a good album, but suffers from the same down-tuned, we are dispassionate dirt with more than saturated.
Take a track on this album and listen to all the other dozen or so albums, and you feel like you have a big identity crisis. Which there is. Too many bands doing the same thing is never good.
The only real upside I can say about this band is the production of the CD is excellent. Outside of that it is stupid to think you are with us in a new band.

what are these guys angry about?
Oceano is a new band on the Earache roster, but don’t that fool you. these guys are out to blow you away. I have heard of deathcore, but never experienced it until today.

Yes this is deathcore and if you don’t like the genre than that’s fine, but why buy something when you already know what direction it is.

    Epic, heavy, brutal deathcore.
I’m not a huge fan of the deathcore genre. It all sounds the same to me. Not only does Ocean break the mold, but it beats the living crap out of it.
