This is a large collection of 18 songs by Steppenwolf. It includes all those on the now deleted “16 Greatest Hits” and I think there are all the songs on the “20th Century Masters”, this is better than a collection of. These include the raw vewrsions the “Magic Carpet Ride” and “Monster.” An error – I would have room for “Power Play”, because I prefer to some of the songs that are included in the price. I can not think of any classic rock, which is more than Remastered coyote tracks, yet I can be a task for Remastering was better than this. The tracks sound fabulous! The bass is great and everything is clear. The song seems to be not loud enough, but that, as the original tapes are.

No matter whether you are regarded as a single CD version of 1991, Born To Be Wild / A Retrospective and a slightly expanded version of 1973's 16 Greatest Hits, it's all the Steppenwolf, the average fan need. Besides including all of their Top 40 hits, you will get all their hits and less important album tracks like “Do not Step on the Grass, Sam,” “The Pusher,” “Snowblind Friend” and “Only for Ladies “. One of the first concerts I ever saw was during my freshman year in college in 1970, when Steppenwolf was touring in support of the monster. [I still have my ticket stub - four bucks!] It was a great show. John Kay is in possession of the stage. Listen to this song brings back a flood of memories and they still “Your Motor Runnin '” thirty years later. If you upgrade your old copy of 16 Greatest Hits, this makes “not step on the Grass, Sam”, “Straight Shootin 'Woman” (the only track on this survey after the publication of 1971 for women) and the full 9-minute medley “Monster / Suicide / America” – Greatest Hits only “monsters”. The band saw many personnel changes over the years, but the music has always been of consistently high quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    ..sounds awesome, except..
..the song “For Ladies Only” (4:13) is either a rerecorded, an updated, or a “single” version of the song.

    Steppenwolf greatest hits are great
My title says it all. The CD itself is as good of quality as a CD can be. The order process and ship was smooth and trouble free.

There is a reason that the sixties rock group Steppenwolf still sells so strongly some thirty years after their arrival on the sixties rock scenes with a quick succession of powerful heavy rock hits like ” Magic Carpet Ride “and” Born To Be Wild. ” I have always admired singer John Kay's singing style, songwriting and lyrical talents, and his very personal warnings about the dangers of drug use on songs like “The Pusher” and “Snowblind Friend”. He was anti-drugs, if it was anything but modern, so cautious and careful. With concept albums such as the legendary “Monster” or discursive excursions into the dark side of rock-culture with “The Pusher,” Kay always had something provocative and thoughtful to say. And Kay also knew his way around a melody, and whether he is insightful social commentary in a series of songs such as “Monster” and “Draft Resister” or just old Wailing Wall in terrific, edgy songs like “Never Too Late (To Start All Over Again) “or” twenty-eight “, he uses the combination of his beautiful texts, driving melodies, and wild rock improvisation to create a whole rafter of Remembrance, insightful and very appealing rock songs. Most of them are here and those who do not find in their other albums. Steppenwolf quickly earned the undying support and admiration of their original fans and new listeners through great compilation albums such as this must-own collection of their hits. Enjoy

    Ageless Music!
My nephew, who is 19, told me he wanted this album. I was shocked when I received it and saw that it contained all the songs I was familiar with back when I was young.

    Not bad for a remaster
These guys are in their 60’s and are still on the road, but this disc is an ok but not great re-master of the 70’s original releases.

Very good piece of music history. I still like the LP’s sound a bit better then CD’s due to some of the characteristic noise flaws but unfortunately LP’s do not play in the car.

    Super Remaster
I must say that I’m totally baffled by the reviewer who bitterly complains about the sound quality. I’ve owned various Steppenwolf hit compilations, and most of the albums they…
