There are some death metal bands that sound like complete **** to me, but others like Malevolent Creation and Deicide make it impossible for me to resist headbanging. I’m looking for bands that play guitar riffs instead of random power chords. I need something brutal but exciting to play on guitar. Thanks.

I don’t mean thrash metal and metalcore combined, I mean bands that pertain to each genre separately. My current favorites are Pantera, Metallica, As I Lay Dying, and Lamb of God. I realize that each band actually combines a few or a couple of sub-genres in their music, like Lamb of God combines groove, death, and metalcore. I would like to know if there are any other bands that come close to their prowess.

I’m looking for some good metal bands that actually sing their lyrics instead of just scream them. Any ideas?

I always have enjoyed heavy metal (Metallica, Pantera) but really just started listening to and enjoying very much the death metal subgenre. I currently listen to Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, As I Lay Dying and Children of Bodom. I am eager to discover more great death metal bands and some black metal since I have never heard black metal before. If black metal is heavier than death metal than that would satisfy my appetite for more metal!!!

u know it could be classic rock, but i’m thinkin more along the lines of slipknot, avenged sevenfold, metallica, disturbed, etc…i think you get it from there so please and all answers are appreciated

Title says it all. Also, if possible, I would like a LIST of bands, not just one or two.
Also, I don’t really like bands that scream throughout an entire song. I like the kind of bands that are half singing, half screamo.

I already asked this question a week ago, recieving some good bands, while some aren’t what I was looking for. I am looking for bands that can play instruments, quite loudly, no screaming (maybe a little if required), and have a sleek feel. I like these heavy metal bands: Pantera, Slipknot, Metallica, Motley Crue and Korn. Anything similar to these would be adequate. Thanks.

i’ve found out about cannibal corpse, suffocation, dying fetus, cattle decapitation, nile, necrophagist, and morbid angel… what other good death metal is there?
