Symphonic: Kamelot, Nightwish, Rhapsody of Fire
Progressive: Symphony X (also interested in Dream Theater)
Power: Dream Evil (AII Iced Earth)
Gothic: Lacuna Coil (also interested in (AII) Sirenia and Tristania)
Folk: Alestorm, Battlelore (AII Korpiklaani)
Death: Amon Amarth (AII Death)
Hair: Ratt (AII Dokken)
Heavy: none (AII Manowar, old Metallica)
Thrash: none (AII Sepultura, Kreator)
Core: All That Remains (kind of melodic death), Shadows Fall
…and of rock:
Hard: Disturbed, Godsmack
Alternative: Live (pronounced as such: “live music”)
Progressive: Tool

holy shit… most of these bands are not even close to metal. if you like metalcore, as i lay dying or all that remains, or killswitch engage. Disturbed is too mainstream to be metal anymore. Try Scar Symmetry. Swedish melo-death band. They kick ass. Some of these bands are okay, but most aren’t metal. AFI? Bullet for my Valentine?
