Wrath [EXPLICIT LYRICS] Review (by Lamb of God)

Wrath

2009 album from the American Heavy Metal heads, a release inspired by and based on the 10 plagues from the book of Exodus. After the reflective Sacrament (2006), a deeply personal album that found Blythe exorcising his personal demons, Wrath turns its lyrical focus outward, and returns to more of the breakneck riffing that characterized the band’s early material. A change in producers, from Machine to Josh Wilbur, was the kick in the pants that this band needed to recapture its mor (more…)

This review is from: anger [Explicit] (MP3 Download) This is a good release from a band that a lot of negative criticism for the spark of the new American metal movement. I always have this band and its previous versions. Anger is a good album, but it has not much progress from the sacrament, and it sounds like a typical Lamb Of God release. This is not necessarily bad, but some people are tired of repetitive sounds. I'm not tired of this band. I can recommend this album to old and new Lamb Of God fans alike. It may not be as good as their Burn the Priest days, but it is certainly not bad.
I have the album a 4 our of 5 as a band has with their formula for a long time. Many bands in the metal genre, this is just so they do not alienate their fan base. That is good, but I prefer it when bands of course, progress and changes its sound (even if the change easily).

Bled of all you had to lose
Three years ago, a friend gave me a copy of Ashes Of The Wake and I was hooked utterly. That said, I bought this album wondering if the evolution that had been prevalent in…

I have Lamb of God expenses for the next three years after their first four albums blew me away. This is also true, but it is not as strong as the last and best efforts, the sacrament. The relatively soft instrumental interludes between the heaviest tracks on this album are reminiscient of old-school Metallica. There are hints of punk and pop-rock elements in a couple of songs, but they combine with the lead singer of the haunting growl and epic guitar riffs. The latter tracks are lacking in comparison to the very strong beginning and middle, but more than makes it LOG with “complaint”. It is their third best album, I think, after the sacrament of the Wake and ash.

Another solid Lamb of God release.
I applaud Randy for trying a slightly different vocal approach on “In Your Words” and the transition from the first instrumental track “The Passing” into “In Your Words” is…

This review is really for all of this awesome band albums. I would first like to point out that they have a somewhat strange name, this is certainly not representative of the appalling brutality of their music, and especially when some mindless souls actually be misled. I can not remember reading a review somewhere strange by some poor idiots who back one of their CDs, because he thought they were a “Christian metal band'(!), but was terribly disappointed, because” the singer sounded angry at the love of Jesus … “- kind sad yet funny at the same time. Anyway, the bottom line, their music, it kicks major A **!. If you like your metal Done hard, heavy and brutal, this band is an ideal starting point. Definitely a quality American metal bands of the new millennium! I've heard about the comparisons to Pantera, whose influence I have definitely found in their music, while still further, I have also heard strong influences from all other metal genre, to me always! These include thrash metal with traces of'80s Metallica, Slayer, Exodus and others, as well as death metal reminiscent of the most brutal death metal great pioneers of the 90s (Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, death, etc.) in addition to their own unique style of course. In other words, a mishmash of everything good from the world of extreme metal. Both singer Randy Blythe screams and growls, which I think is quite unique and very well done. The guitars are meat, sharp, ultra-distorted, just heavy. Although I would be a little more guitar solos, the general structure of the clay does not miss them very much. As a long-term metal fan, I must confess, I have recently “discovered” Lamb of God for music, which I immediately added to their entire CD production in my music collection, and I am glad that I am!. The way it looks now, these guys will definitely not let you down. Metal fans, pick-up “anger” or any of their previous albums with confidence, crank'em and enjoy!

This album is like a punch in the face
If you’re like me and always worry that your favorite metal bands will eventually go soft or sell out — good news.

This is what Sacrement should have been.
As I’m sure many of the LoG fans feel, Sacrament was a huge let down. They spent more time with the production than with the overall song value.

    Ripping good CD!
First of all I’ll say that “As the Palace Burns” is my favorite LoG album, and with the last two I enjoyed them but thought they lacked some of rawness of “As the Palace Burns.

    Another damn good entry
Considering how many times I’ve listened to this album by this point, I think it’s about time I put my two cents in on how it sounds.

another solid album from americas best real metal band
its all here, the machine gun guitar riffs, the heavy bass, the thunderous drums, and vocals that still stand out in the crowded sub-genre.
